Up, Up and Away!

Happy New Year! This is another quick easy card to showcase our Big Shot with the Top Note Die, and our Rub-On's in the current Occasional Mini. I cut the base card in Real Red 11 x 4.25. Cut 1 whisper white and 1 Pear Pizzazz Top Note die cut. Using a sponge dauber I tapped Bashful Blue for the sky. I rubbed the Air balloon on Whisper White and cut it out so I could pop it up with a few dimensional's. I tore the Pear Pizzazz to make the grass. Used the greeting also from the rub-on's. Added 1/8 inch pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon. Easy Smeazy. Have a great night.

Oldie but a goodie, Framed Art

When I need that quick gift and nothing will do. I go thru some old Stampin Success magazines, I love going thru these because there are so many ideas I forget about, or maybe I didn't get to. You do have to be a demonstrator to receive this wealth of information so contact me if you are interested. http://brendasplace.stampinup.net now onto the project.REMEMBER if you do not have the stamps used in this project use what you do have. Change it to someones name with flowers or butterflies, get creative.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Letterpress Alphabet (retired),Alphabits (retired), Expressive Flexible Phrases (retired),
Jumbo wheel Woodcut Holly (retired),Print Pattern Background (retired)
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Ink: Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke,Bravo Burgundy
Markers: Always Artichoke,Bravo Burgundy
Punches: 1/4 square punch, 1/8 hand held punch
Extra's: White fibers, Hodgepodge Hardware
Frame: Ivory Distressed looks the nicest (40%off at Michaels)
I cut 3 tags 2 x 3 out of Very Vanilla and distressed them with Crumb Cake Ink. I then stamped one letter per tag in Bravo Burgundy. Using my markers and the Woodcut Holly wheel I colored the holly and stamped them out one at a time. Then cut those and taped in place. Using the crumb cake I punched out three 1/4 squares and taped them at the top. I punched a hole at the top using my 1/8 hand held punch and tied them with twine. I then stamped Wishes, Wonder, and Believe in Always Artichoke and cut them out.Remember to leave room on the left side for a hole punch with the 1/8 and tied them with linen thread to each tag. The "J" tag I wrapped with some white fiber(don't know where it came from), and used a spiral hardware to slide onto the tag. I stamped the alphabits twice with Always artichoke and punched out letters to spell " to the world"using the 1/4 square punch. Glue the letters "to the" on the "O" tag. Now we can wheel the Woodcut holly onto a 8.5 x 11 in Crumb cake. Ink the pattern print background stamp in Always Artichoke and stamp it one time on scrap paper then stamp it onto the very vanilla in the bottom right corner of the page. It should be shadowed (very light). Glue the letters "world" on a strip of very vanilla that fits into the framed hardware. Now tape your tags down to your Very Vanilla 8.5 x 11. If you have a mat like mine lay it on top so you get an idea of how to lay it out. When everything is in place before you put it in the frame place the hardware frame over the "O" and "Y" tag. Using your paper pierce tool make a hole so the brads glide through. I hope this Oldie but Goodie inspires you to make something great with what you have in your stamping stash. Thanks for stopping, Brenda

All that glitters

I'm back after a very long weekend, shopping, parties, cookie exchanges, it was a very long weekend. Fun though, I love the holidays. So I saw this done by someone on line I'm not sure who so I can't give the credit but if you are someone who puts up Valentine decorations this would work great on discounted clear HEART ornaments I saw at Michaels.
Supplies used:
1 glass ball ornament, 25 drops of classic re-inking I used Baja Breeze
1/2 tsp.-3/4 tsp. of dazzeling diamonds or any fine glitter.
PLEASE USE RUBBER GLOVES.
Holding the ornament and removing the top add your ink place your finger over the top and shake, twist and turn. Make sure all the glass area has been inked. Turn over and let the excess drip out onto a paper towel. Turn back over and add glitter, Shake, Shake, Shake. To let dry I use a piece of paper towel in either an egg carton or original ornament box so any excess ink can drain. I let set it over night. Hope you do these at Valentines in, Real Red, Regal Rose, and Pretty in Pink those colors would rock. Thanks for stopping, and Happy Holidays. Brenda

Teen Decor

This was a great present for a teen I had made. The pictures don't do it justice. I learned this really cool technique from a fellow demo Sue. You crumble your paper then rub ink across the paper it will only catch the raised edges. Then turn it over and lay on a piece of copy paper and iron the paper flat. I took the frame apart and put the skater on the inside of the glass so you can clean it. Thanks for stopping.

Gift Card Holder

I saw this made by Vicki and I knew I had to case it!
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Designer Paper K & Company I was out of Deck the Halls
Punches: 1 1/4 circle 119861, Large Snowflake119852, Oval 119863, Large Oval 119855
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Button from my stash. Ribbon 5" long.
Stamp Set: Jolly Old Saint Nick 121321

Directions: 1 piece of 4 x 8 cardstock(cherry cobbler) folded in half. 1 piece of designer paper 3.3/4 x 3.3/4. 1 piece of contrasting cardstock(always artichoke) 3 x 4 1/4, 1 piece of constrasting designer paper 1 1/4 x 4. Two scrap pieces of each cardstock color used to make bow. 1 piece of Very Vanilla 2x2 to punch snowflake out of. 1 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 1 x 3 for greeting and 1 piece of cardstock 1 1/4 x 3 1/4 to layer greeting. To assemble Fold 4 x 8 pice in half and punch the 1 1/4 in circle half way down leaving a half circle punched. Do the same to the designer paper, tape ribbon down to designer paper then tape it down to the front of your gift card. The half circle punch is so you can see the gift card. Fold the 3 x 4 1/4 in half and using red tacky tape attach bottom of the back side only 1/2 inch down from the top. This leaves room to remove the card. When you punch out the ovals for your bow, punch the smaller oval first then center the larger oval over the punched out area. You'll have to hold your punches in your hand looking at it from the back. Punch 3 of one color and 2 of the contrasting color. Tape down to the back side of your top. Punch out snowflake and tape down greeting first then snowflake. Using a glue dot I added a button from my stash. Using velcro dots to hold the top down put in each corner. Volia, what a great gift card holder. Thanks for stopping.Brenda

A scrappy ornament

Once again I cry, "don't throw the scraps away!" I cut these 1/2 x 4. Roll loosely and fill a glass ball ornament bought from the Michaels craft store.I saw a version of this on Ann's blog. I'm sure if I had red designer paper it would have really popped but sadly I was out. The red ribbon helped. Thanks for stopping! Brenda
