Reality is a Killer!

Hello blog world!
Have you ever just realized you are not super woman, and you can't do everything? I finally realize for the first time in my life I can't do it all. Many of you whom have followed me for the last few years have seen my rise and fall of blog post. This past year has been especially hard for me. I have had such a overwhelming amount of responsibilities and I had to let somethings go. My blog took the hardest hit. I basically only stamped and created once a month for my clubs. I would finally lay my head down at night and POP "I would think S**T I forgot to post a project! Finally I just quit worrying and mostly went on with my crazy schedule. Well I think I have a handle on things and life has slowed itself just a tad. My New Years resolution is to post 2-3 times a week. I am looking forward to inking myself up again. I really have missed my inks and card stock. Starting on January 1 I will start posting again so PLEASE come and visit me. I hope to give you some great ideas and I hope you can give me supportive comments to help me along.
Thanks for all the support I know when you stop in and I appreciate it. May this year bring much happiness and many blessings. I pray for peace and guidance. Happy New Year.

Oh Christmas Tree

When I first saw our Holiday Ornament framelits this tree popped into my head. The Candlelight Christmas paper just matched my vision perfectly. Although I used the smallest ornament and the smallest diamond shape to create this great tree. I added pearls and a Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon with small pearls scattered about. I found the Styrofoam tree cone at Michael's. I will warn you it did take 4 sheets of 12 x 12 paper. I started using the smallest diamond shape 4 rows from the top. Do start at the bottom and I also used a low temp glue gun to assemble. Enjoy and have a great day.

Stamp a Stack

These are the cards I featured in my Stamp a Stack. We made 5 of each card. We also did these at retreat. I think we are all set for the holidays. We also made boxes for these cards. I will post a clearer picture of the snowmen card, there is so much bling it sparkles and shines, lol! These cards were very easy to duplicate just A LOT of prep work. I think they turned out great.

Retreat Projects

These are a few of the cards we made at Retreat using our retired felt pieces and our current festival tags. I think they came out great. We had such a good time, 4 days of stamping, laughing, and snacking. I can't wait to do it again! We made 5 of each card, with matching boxes.

A Christmas Keepsake

A Christmas Keepsake
Instructions written by: Brenda Anderson
Supplies Needed:
Stamp set: Candlelight Christmas
Framelits: Candlelight Christmas Framelits
Inks: Real Red, Lucky Limeade
Designer Series Paper: Candlelight Christmas
Die: Rosette OR Scalloped edge punch and Simply Scored
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Tulle Ribbon, Vintage Buttons, Large Pearls, quick dry glue,
Silicone Craft Mat, Low temp Glue gun and glue sticks, linen thread, 1/8 circle punch, large scallop punch.
You will need to stamp 20 ornaments in Lucky Limeade and 20 ornaments in Real Red. Looking at the sample you will be able to determine which ornament to stamp. Once you have those stamped (that should take 10 minutes), then die cut them (that should take 10 minutes).
Once that is done fold 15 of each in half, the stamped side faces the inside. Then you will start assembling each section. You will glue 3 of each ornament back to back to create a 3-D ornament using the quick dry glue. Then using 1 of the 5 flat ornaments glue in place on the back stamped side facing you. Repeat 4 more times. Set these aside. Repeat the same process using the red ornaments. Set aside.
* If you are making these for gifts I would do all the prep work prior to assembling .
The tulle tuffs are created by cutting 3 scallop sections. In other words count 3 bumps and cut. Place a small dab of low temp glue in the center, fold over and twist. Holding the tuff together trim the top on an angle. Make 5 for each ornament. For the rosette in the middle cut 2 strips of Candlelight Christmas DSP 1 inch wide. Then using your big shot pick either the scallop edge or the pinking edge and cut. Attach the pieces using quick dry glue and set aside.
Lets assemble this: Using our silicone mat put a half dollar size of glue spread into a circle. Lay your lucky limeade ornaments into the glue shaping your ornament. Next add glue between the sections and lay your tuffs into the glue. Next add more glue and add the red ornaments in between. Refer to photo if needed. Now to add the rosette I folded it together holding it in my hand. Added a strip of low temp glue on my mat and set it into the glue still holding it together. Count to 10 and lift. Forming your rosette should be easier with the glue holding it together. Connect and add glue in the center place rosette into it and hold count to 25. Add more glue and place your vintage button and set pearl in the middle. Let dry for 2 minutes. Punch a hole at the top and add linen thread to hang. Cover your glue spot on the back using the large scallop punch. I hope these help.

Great Gift Tags

Hello everyone,
I am not good blogging everyday, sorry. Here is a quick project that doesn't take a whole lot of time.
In person these are stunning. Here's what I used

Stamp Set: Snow Flake Soiree
Ink: Early Espresso
Punches: XL Oval Punch, 1/2 inch Circle
Ribbon: Crumb Cake Tulle, Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon

I would stamp each snow flake then stamp on scrap first then on my tag for a subtle look. The word Believe was stamped full strength.
Thanks for stopping.

Joy to the World

Good morning blog world! I am so sorry I haven't posted all week! Working full time having a family, grandchildren, and taking care of my mother during her Breast Cancer treatment has me spread thin so that doesn't leave much time for blogging. So sorry... Don't give up I have 2 days off starting tomorrow so hopefully I get somethings ready for my blog.
Here's today's post.. I love this new snowflake die!
Card base is Very Vanilla, and I used the Frame embossing folder. I cut Real Red 4.50 x 3.25 and centered it in the frame area. The designer paper is from Candlelight Christmas. It suspiciously looks like the print from Vintage Christmas paper from 2 years ago although that was in Soft Suede and Crumb cake. Love it! Anyways the paper is cut 4.25 x 3. Which is great for workshops because you will get 8 from 1 sheet of designer paper. The snowflake was cut in Very Vanilla and I added a little bling to the ends. I stamped Joy on vanilla with Chocolate Chip ink from the new set Joyous Celebrations in the holiday mini. I punched it out with the XL oval punch. I gave it a little lift with dimensionals. Simple but elegant. Well off to work have a great day!

Paper Flower Class

Amazing what our punches can do. I had so much fun teaching this class today! On the Coral paper we shaded with Poppy parade and used the ornament punch to build the flower. The Melon Mambo paper we used the Fancy Flower punch. The designer paper was used to create our carnation we used the scallop circle punch our 2 sizes. Loved it.

EASY but cute

Going through my OLD and soon to be retired stamps I had to make a quick card for my hubby's Birthday tomorrow. I kept it super simple and stamped and cut everything. I had to stop myself from using an embossing folder to give the card some texture. Cardstock colors, daffodil delight, garden green, crumb cake, soft suede, marina mist and very vanilla, I used Chocolate Chip ink on everything. The stamp sets were Under the Stars, and Camp out from (2002) YIKES! That sounds old. Hope you enjoy. Have a great weekend.Brenda

Message Board

I just love Sundays and I love it when my kids wake up and we have breakfast together. It is one of the simple joys of sitting around the table talking and catching up. They are 17 and 20 my oldest is married and moved away he's 28. Although he works 3rd shift and manages to stop some Sunday mornings. I sometimes go all out but this morning I kept it simple. The focus is on the menu board which clearly states the cost for breakfast. Making this message board is so easy and can be made lots of ways for teens or in your own kitchen. I used a 8 x 10 frame some designer paper you can get as fancy as you would like. Using a DRY marker to write your messages. Have fun creating these really fun frames.

Auction spring clean

Ok demo's, you all know we have so much stuff we could fill a building. With the new catalog coming out I decided it is time to clean out my space. I am downsizing and only keeping what I absolutely must. So after much research on line on marketing ideas I found one that just might work. I have decided to take all my OLDER and gently used sets in wood that I can part with and price them out, for example some are marked 100.00. $100.00 you say? Well here is the game and how it works. I am having a LEAVE YOUR WALLET AT HOME PARTY during the new launch. I will have tables of stamps for my guest to view. Their invitation will clearly state this is a leave your wallet at home party. They can earn auction dollars by doing the following, joining a club, hosting a workshop, signing up for a class, bringing in an order, etc. I will give them 100-500 dollars for each item they do. When they check in at the party they will get a bidding paddle made from the BIG SHOT. I am even auctioning off a class for 4. So maybe if you do a little spring cleaning and downsize it can give you plenty of business in the next few months! Good luck. Be back on Monday! Have a great weekend. Brenda

Spreading Sunshine

This card reminds me of a summer day. It was simple but my customers loved learning how to make the leaves from the oval punch folding them and running them through a crimper. They loved punching out the blossoms and dry embossing with the vintage folder for texture. I used the 5 petal punch for the center and a GREAT Summer Smooche fabric button for the center. The rick rack was cut from our trimmings die cut. I also used Flower Garden paper, thanks to my great friend Mary P (You know who you are). The greeting was from the Occaions Mini. Thanks for stopping Brenda

Smooches in Mambo

Here is a great card for a workshop! Simple but elegant and you use so many products its a great up sell card! Base card is Melon Mambo I cut a strip of Summer Smooches 1 x 4. Show how to use the square punch on an angle to cut the banner. Then use your big Shot and the Vintage wall paper to dry emboss your card. use the Big Shot again to cut the framelits. One in Lucky Limeade and One in Whisper White. I used the Just believe Stamp set which led to me showing how to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig. Then I used the Boho Blossom Punch for the larger flower out of Rich Razzleberry, and the petal punch from the Itty Bitty trio. Added our Rhinestone Bling to the flowers and the top and bottom of the framelit! Wow that was an amazing up sell! First of all we can't live with out the BIG SHOT or PUNCHES. Hope you enjoyed this post be back later in the week. Thanks for stopping.  Brenda

Little Bit

I really loved this when I saw it in our Stampin Success. The only problem I had was how can you open and close it to get the treats out without damaging the project. If anyone has suggestions please let me know! Any way here are the dimensions.

Calypso Coral Card stock cut 4 14/16 scored every 7/8 you will have a 1/2 inch left at the end that is to close it with red line tape. I used the Fancy Flower Punch for the ends punch 2 out of designer paper. I used the stamp set Best of everything. I stamped the "made for you" in Wisteria Wonder. Cleaned it and them stamped it in Calypso Coral and punched it out with our Small Oval punch. I think if you use a dimensional to pop it up it looks better. Stamp and cut out the flower and the leaves from the tree stamp in the set using Lucky Limade. I tied it together with 12 inches of Ruffled Calypso Coral Ribbon. I added the tag using the Wisteria Wonder Bakers twine.

Early Spring?

Happy Monday, This card makes me long for spring. Although we have had a GREAT winter not a lick of snow! I know I should stop using the Sale-a-bration paper but I just can't stop! This card was fairly simple so here's the recipe. Base card: Very Vanilla 8.5 x 5.5. The Everyday Enchantment designer paper is cut 1.75 x 5.5. 1st layer is 2 x 5.5 in Poppy Parade. I tied the Calypso Coral 1/8" Organdy Ribbon together and added two tiny tags. I stamped the butterfly and key in soft suede with the stamp set Elementary Elegance. The greeting Hello was stamped in Poppy Parade. That was the easy part. Now I punched a large scallop circle in Old Olive, and a 1 3/4 circle in Soft Suede. I ran both through the BIG SHOT with the square lattice embossing folder. I punched the Bird out of the same designer paper just a different pattern. With the same punch I punced 4 stems with leaves. Using the Mini trio punch I punched the small scallop circle in Poppy Parade and the 4 petal in Baja Breeze. Glued everything down to look like a nest. This card make me smile, have a happy Monday! Delicate Wishes

It must be said I love Sunday's. I love staying in bed even if I am not sleeping. Just the comfort of not having to be anywhere before I am ready is the best thing about Sunday's. I started this card with Valentines Day in mind and ended up with a Birthday card. Funny how you have one idea and it spills into something else. This picture does not do this card justice. Here is the recipe: Base card is in Poppy Parade and yes I used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder (Remember I told you I love that folder). The card is a standard 8.5 x 5.5. I then used the Large Paper Doily Sizzix die and Very Vanilla cardstock. I cut a strip of designer paper from the upcoming Sale-a-bration called Everyday Enchantment 1 x 4. Then I cut a piece 2 x 2 and used the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die. I also cut the smallest size framelit in Poppy Parade. The banner is from the Petal Cone die, I did stamp the greeting in Poppy Parade from Bring on the Cake. I did however cut the banner at both ends at the end of the greeting. I taped down the tails and Popped the greeting with dimensionals. Ended with a Large Pearl in the center of the butterfly. Thanks for stopping and have a great Sunday! Brenda

Vintage Elegance

Happy Saturday!! Oh how I love the weekend, especially when I have a whole day to stamp! I wanted to create something simple, elegant, but quick. Simple! Using our embossing folders can make the simpliest card elegant. Play with all of them to find the right combination. I love using the Vintage Wallpaper, it is my "go to" embossing folder. Now if I had had some 3/8 ribbon to hide the seam of the paper I would have used it. Even though I didn't it still looks great. I love these colors together. Here is the recipe: Base card is Very Vanilla 8.5 x 55 folded and embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper. Cut designer paper 2 x 5.5 from the Everyday Enchantments (Sale-a-Bration.) Greeting is on 2.50 x 2.50 Very Vanilla matted onto Poppy Parade 2.75 x 2.75 The greeting is stamped in Soft Suede and Poppy Parade using the stamp set Elementary Elegance 125122. Now tomorrow I promise to use something current not something you will have to wait to purchase. Have a great day! Brenda

Elementary Elegance

EI apologize for the late post I intended to post this earlier but life sometimes gets in the way. Simple Elegance comes to mind with the Sale-a-Bration set Elementary Elegance. I used the cardstock Poppy Parade for the base card. I also used 3 Soft Suede pieces cut 1.5 x 4 and I also used the new Sale-a-Bration paper Everyday Enchantment. I cut 3 pieces 1.25 x 3.75. For the greeting I cut Soft Suede cardstock 2.75 x 2.75 and Very Vanilla 2.50 x 2.50. I used Soft Suede ink to stamp the greeting. I could have added so much to this but decided to simplify. I hope you have a great day! Brenda

Hello, another beauty of a card! This time I kept it really simple. All these products are available today in the new Occasions Mini! Here is the recipe.
Base Card 8.5 x 5.5 Baja Breeze
I cut the edge using the Edgelit Dies 125595 and then using the Embossing folder that matches in the Adorning Accents 125601.
Strip 5.5 x 1.5 Very Vanilla
I cut the edge using the Edgelit Dies 125595 line it on the back edge and run a strip of tape along the top edge of the vanilla and fold the card down.
Adding the designer paper is alittle tricky. I cut a piece 5.25 x 3.50 and cut the bottom edge using the edgelit die that matches. I matched it up and yes there was extra paper above the card. I turned it over and trimmed the paper. I cut 2 Framelits 125598 the 3rd frame in the series. I stamped the greeting using the Apothecary Art 125527 in STAZON. This step is very important because it won't bleed when coloring in the flowers. I cut the layer in Baja Breeze but you need to cut it horizontal and tape it down about .25 of an inch out. I used dimensionals to raise it up and embellished with Large Pearls 125577.
Using a Blender pen I colored the flowers using Wild Wasabi, Poppy Parade, and Baja Breeze. Some Pearl smooch would finish it off but I ran out from Christmas (ugh!). Thanks for stopping and have a blessed day. Brenda

Timeless Memories Day 2

I just love this layout, it is soft and delicate. I of course used the designer paper Attic Boutique, and the Side Notes 125413. I also used the scallop envelope die cut with Soft Suede cardstock tied it with daffodil ribbon 2 Little Leaves die cuts 114511 using Pear Pizzazz cardstock. The 2 tags inside the envelope are from the Side Notes packet. I used the large label punch with Soft Suede cardstock and side notes package. I used the stamp set Rue Des Fleurs 125487 and Poppy Parade ink for the greeting. I think that covers everything. It was very easy and went together quick USING THE SIDE NOTE PACKAGE IT CAME TOGETHER QUICKLY!

Lets get it started!

Happy New Year! Welcome to my 30 days 30 projects! This Memory Journal is the kick off of this series. I have used the On Board Journal book that is only 6.95 and it has 20 pages in very vanilla for my journaling of special memories this coming year. I used the Attic Boutique designer paper 125407 and cut it 5.25 x 5 to cover the book. I adhered it with quick drying glue. Using the framelits 125598 I cut 1 in Poppy Parade cardstock 119793 and 1the next size smaller in Very Vanilla 101650. The image I stamped with was from the Apothecary Art 125527 and Stazon ink 101406. The large pearls 125577 were in the new Occasions Mini along with everything I used. I did stamp the Remember When with the set Word Play 120651. I added the Seam binding in Baja Breeze 122331 and Very Vanilla 120999. I love this small journal that fits into my night stand. At night I reflect on my day and jot down special thoughts. I hope you enjoyed this project have a great day and many blessings this new year.
